These dogs remained isolated for many centuries hidden in the Afghanistan mountains. The first Afghan Hound was brought to England in the early 1900's and were known as Persian Greyhounds or Barukhzy Hounds.

The Afghan Hound is known as the most glamorous dog of the large breeds with its long silky, flowing coat and Oriental expression.
